I am married to Stephanie, have 4 children and a puggle.
Joaquin - 13 ("Yo Soy Joaquin")
Eva - 11 (Both liked the name and it was spelled the same in Spanish and German)
Lola - 10 (Named after my great aunt's nickname)
Santos - 6 (Was almost Dos Santos, named after soccer player)

The best way to define my character is for you to know that my family eats dinner at my mom's house every week.

Turnaround Experience.

Global Leadership Academy High School

  • Selected to be principal after two years of priority improvement status with CDE
  • First year moved school out of priority improvement and kept the school climbing to performance
  • Transformed school into International Baccalaureate Middle Years for all focus
  • Student Demographics
              -Free/Reduced Price Lunch Eligible                  Students= 77%
              -Minority Students= 95% (primarily                    Latino)
              -English Learners= 61%
              -Students with disabilities= 12%

Adams 14

  • Completed first year of UVA-PLE training
  • Instituted PLCs in secondary
  • Lead secondary schools through pandemic
  • Applied and secured RISE funding
  • Increased CTE programming
  • Created PTECH program
  • Secondary schools met 15% band improvement goals
